When is the best time to visit Dubai?

Before jumping in and booking your Dubai flights, it’s useful to know about how Dubai looks at different times of the year. Things such as what’s going on, and what the temperatures are like. The first thing to bear in mind with this great location is that there are only really two temperatures: hot and even hotter. Tourists from the UK certainly feel a difference and enjoy the chance to soak up the rays of sun, no matter the time of year.

If the potential 40+ degree temperatures are a little intimidating, then you may be better off taking your trip to Dubai during the cooler months. The months November to April tend to be peak season here, mainly because the temperatures are that bit cooler. This is also the time of year when there are plenty of events taking place, such as the Dubai world cup that happens every March. If you’ve already booked your flights for the summer months, then fear not: the air conditioning systems are more than capable of bringing relief in hotel rooms and shopping malls.

When you’re looking at Dubai holiday deals, don’t be too hung up on the time of year. The times when you are likely to see prices spike are during the school holidays. Even then, there are always some great Dubai holiday deals to be had and, no matter what time of year your visit, there’s always plenty to enjoy:

What is there to do in Dubai?

If you’ve already started to look at prices of your ideal holiday, you might have seen some incredible hotels like Atlantis The Palm, Five Jumeirah Village Dubai or Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai. It’s the go-to place if you want to experience the finer things in life. That said, with some searching, you can still find some cheaper Dubai holidays by travelling in the off-peak season.

Once you’re there, there’s one way to take in this incredible city and that’s to visit AURA SKYPOOL Dubai. Their website says that they have the world’s largest 360 degree infinity pool, and while that’s impressive, being able to sip on a cold drink in a warm pool overlooking The Palm has to be up there with the best of them.

This wouldn’t be a proper destination guide without suggesting a visit to the world’s tallest building – the Burj Khalifa. It’s 160 storeys up and you’ll want some binoculars to really take in everything you can see from that high up. Get your tickets from AttractionTickets.com for a great deal.

After you’ve admired the views, we recommend heading down to Jumeirah beach for a bit of sunbathing. Other holidaymakers’ reviews on Tripadvisor describe the beach as clean, not too crowded and with very clear water.

Dubai is also ideal for those who prefer something a little more action-packed than lying on a beach. With it being a desert city, you could try a dune safari. Or how about taking the wheel of a 4x4, or take to a quad bike, for an excursion with a difference? It’s also a great place to enjoy a round of golf would you believe? There are some stunning golf courses to play on and they certainly have a backdrop to remember.

Celebrate winning a round of golf with a trip to the retail capital of the world and more specifically, the Dubai Mall. Splash the cash on high-end luxury goods from top designers. There’s also the chance to enjoy local goods and souvenirs at markets, where you can hone your haggling skills.

Did you know that the Dubai Mall is the largest mall in the world? It’s 12 million square feet and packed full of 100s of shops to spend the day browsing.

While a lot of experiences in Dubai involve the heat in one way or another, you could change that with some skiing lessons at Ski Dubai. Yes that’s right, skiing on snow in Dubai! You could spend the day cooling down in -1 temperatures while learning some new skills, or hang out with some of their ‘snow penguins’.

What should I know before visiting Dubai?

Dubai holidays are extremely popular for a reason: it’s a truly magical destination with so much to see and do. That being said, there are some things that you need to know before you go to make sure you have the best trip:

Book your Dubai flights early

If you’re looking for cheap Dubai holidays, you might get the best deal if you book around six months in advance.

Modesty is everything

Dubai follows the Muslim culture which means that you’re encouraged to dress more modestly than you might in a typical British summer. For any gender, we recommend avoiding anything too short, revealing, or walking around without covering your top half.

Public displays of affection

It’s best not to hold hands or kiss in public to keep on the good side of the law. While we know luxury holidays like these can be rather romantic, it’s better to contain yourself until back in the comfort and privacy of your hotel.

Be aware of alcohol

You’re allowed to drink in Dubai, but it’s better to do this in bars and restaurants, as they don’t like to see drunken behaviour in public. You’ll need to get a permit if you’d like to buy alcohol to drink somewhere else.
